Just got The Big Question out from the library. What a great book! Reading it together with my daughter was an eye opening experience as she pointed out to me which things she agreed with and what she didn't agree with. I'll have to track down Duck, Death and The Tulip, Marjorie!

Thank you for bringing this book to my attention, Marj. I can't wait to get a copy. It sounds so beautiful... When I read Erlbruch's "The Big Question" (which won the BologanaRaggazzi Award in 2004), I was completely mesmerized by its poetic, simple and quite deep approach to the big question of why we are here, in this world. At the time I bought a dozen copies, to give as gifts---it is that good---and to this day, whenever I read it, I'm left with the impression that my horizon has broadened.
