Maureen Hayes Author/Illustrator Visit Award — USA

  What is it?

The Maureen Hayes Author / Illustrator Visit Award is an American Library Association Award established in 2005 with funding from Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing.  The Award will be given to a library to pay for a visit from an author or illustrator to talk to children and young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience such a meeting.

  PaperTigers says...

... this award will help highlight the crucial role libraries play in encouraging children to become book lovers, by making it possible for them to meet and be inspired by a favorite author or illustrator.

  Tell me more…
  • The award is administered by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC).
  • Only ALSC Members can apply.
