What
is it? |
Kahani is "a bimonthly literary magazine dedicated to empowering, educating and entertaining children of South Asian descent living in North America. It is an alternative publication that reflects their unique life experiences not found in mainstream literature. Created especially for children in elementary school, Kahani is the first magazine of its kind".

... Kahani, which means story in Hindi, was conceived and is produced by a group of talented professional women who realized the need for such a publication, not only for their own kids' sake, but also for thousands of others. And what better reason to get motivated? The magazine came to life in 2004 and since then has been a great, informative, fun treat to South Asian kids living in North America. Also a good tool for teachers interested in understanding their multiracial classrooms better.
