says... |
NCRCL in Roehampton is an authority in the field of children's
book literature, and its MA and PhD programs are highly rated.
CLISS is a great addition to the existing programs, and is a great
way for people who are passionate about children's literature
to meet their peers, debate with experts, attend lectures, contribute
to seminars - and have a good time in the beautiful Roehampton
campus!

- It usually takes place at the end of July (in 2003,
from July 25 to 30), but the deadline for applications
is the end of March! CLISS accepts around
100 applicants per year;
- Areas of study include the Origins and Development
of Children's Literature, The Literature of War,
Radical Visual Texts, Comparative Literature,
Literature in Translation. Check out the draft program
here;
- There's also a Creative Writing Masterclass option,
where tutors like Anthony Browne, Aidan Chambers and Adele Geras
discuss their work and working practices, and an editor and
a creative writing tutor work with the students;
- If you are already studying children's literature at a graduate
level, you'll be happy to know that CLISS satisfies the requirements
for one module of the MA in Children's Literature taught in
Roehampton, and is also accepted internationally for accumulation
and credit transfer.
