Storylines: Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand is the New Zealand Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), a non-profit organization which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.

By networking with other organizations and agencies who are concerned with children's literature and literacy, CLFNZ does the crucial work of organizing events, workshops and seminars; promoting awareness on the importance of reading; and awarding and highlighting high quality New Zealand literature for children.

• Formed in 2000, Storylines is the result of two organisations concerned with children's literature in New Zealand joining efforts: the Children's Literature Association of New Zealand and the Children's Book Foundation Inc.
• The foundation has as its patrons Margaret Mahy and Joy Cowley, New Zealand's best known writers for children.
• Many prestigious book awards are presented by the CLFNZ, including the annual Margaret Mahy Medal and Lecture Award, awarded to a person who has made an especially significant contribution to children’s literature, publishing or literacy in the country.
• To round up the awards' goal, an annual Notable Books list highlights the best published works for children.
• The site also includes a database of writers/illustrators profiles, booklists organized by theme, and links to other trusted sources.
• NZ Ibby members receive Storylines' quarterly newsletter with news and information about children's literature around New Zealand as well as internationally.
