- The Literacy Promotion programs focus on the
production of posters, booklets, games, and puppets for adults
with limited reading and writing skills who live in rural areas.
This material is originally in English, and ACCU provides seed
money and technical support to create regional versions relevant
to local life, culture, and languages;
- Through different Book Development projects,
ACCU produces, translates, and distributes childrens books
throughout Asia and trains local experts in an effort to contribute
to the strengthening of local childrens book production;
- Other cultural programs include projects that
safeguard local cultural heritages, a photo contest followed
by an exhibition that tours different countries, and traditional
and popular music programs co-produced with regional experts.
- Literacy Resource Centres for Girls and Women
are set up by regional networks of Non Governamental Organizations
and government sectors and are assisted by ACCU.
