PaperTigers
says... |
Katha organizes a wealth of activities in the field
of literature and literacy, but most of all we like the work they
do with children from poor and illiterate families, from the learning
centre for child laborers to the student support activities

|
- a visit to Katha's website
is the only way to see all their work, but beware: the site
is big, and its organization not always logical. Start from
the About
Us page, and then take a look at the Centre for Sustainable
Learning, at Katha
Schools, at the Children's
Corner, and finally at the community
around Katha;
- The Centre for Sustainable Learning "fosters quality
education for children from nonliterate families that is relevant
and fun;"
- The Story Research and Resource Centre, Katha Vilasam,
focuses on Indian literature, especially short fiction, helps
writers, translators and editors, and publishes quality translations
from and between the various Indian languages, including English;
- Kathakaar, the Centre for Children's Literature,
publishes books for children and young adults, and holds story-related
workshops in schools and learning centres.
