Pattima Singhalaka was born in Bangkok, Thailand. After studying design at the Kansas City Art Institute in the USA, she moved to Italy where she studied for a Masters of Design at the Domus Academy in Milan. Later on, she turned her attention to illustration and began developing and refining a personal style. Her first picture book, Starduster, came out in October 2001.
